Privacy Policy

Image tools: nothing is uploaded

The image resizer, compressor, converters and Image Studio run in your browser. Your images are read, edited and saved on your own device and are never sent to our servers. Exported images do not include the original EXIF metadata (for example camera details or GPS location).

Audio tools: browser first, server when needed

Converting to WAV happens in your browser when it can read the file, and nothing is uploaded. For other formats, or files your browser cannot read, we ask before uploading. When you agree:

• Your file is sent over an encrypted connection and stored in private storage that is not publicly reachable.
• It can only be accessed with a key held in your browser tab for that conversion.
• The uploaded file and the converted result are deleted within 30 minutes, or straight away when you press Delete my files now. Our staff cannot browse or download your files.
• We keep basic details about the job (formats, size, length, status and timing, but not your file name) for up to 14 days to keep the service reliable, then delete them.
• To enforce the daily limit on server conversions we store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type with the job. It cannot be turned back into your IP address.

Usage counts

We count how many times each tool page is viewed and how many conversions start, finish or fail, per tool and per day. These counters contain no personal data, cookies or identifiers.

Cookies

We set these cookies ourselves:

• appearance: remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
• consent: remembers your answer to the cookie question, for 180 days.
• Session and XSRF-TOKEN: a session cookie and a security token that protect the site against forged requests. They expire after two hours of inactivity and are not used to track you.

If analytics or advertising are switched on, we ask first. Only if you choose Accept do we load Google Analytics (to measure visits) and Google AdSense (to show ads), which may set their own cookies and process data as described in Google's privacy policy. If you choose Reject, neither is loaded and every tool works the same.

News links

The news section shows headlines and short summaries from licensed sources. Selecting a headline takes you to the publisher's website, where their own privacy policy applies.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may briefly keep standard request logs, including IP addresses, to protect the service from abuse.
