Design tools, editors and many apps still cannot open AVIF images, and PNG is the natural replacement when the image has a transparent background or you want to edit it without further loss. This converter decodes the AVIF in your browser and saves every pixel as a PNG.
Expect the PNG to be larger than the AVIF, often many times larger for photos, because AVIF compresses far more aggressively. If you just need a photo that opens everywhere, convert it to JPG instead. Your image stays on your device throughout, and current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can all read AVIF.

Does the PNG keep transparency?
Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent areas of the AVIF are kept in the PNG.
Will the PNG look exactly like the AVIF?
Yes for ordinary images, because PNG is lossless. Images made with HDR or extra-wide colour are saved in standard colour.
Is my image uploaded?
