About this tool
Many audio editors, samplers and DJ tools work best with WAV. This converter decodes your MP3 and writes it out as standard 16-bit, 44.1 kHz PCM WAV, keeping mono files mono and stereo files stereo.
For files your browser can read (most MP3s), the conversion happens on your device and the file is never uploaded. If your browser cannot decode a particular file, you can choose to use our server instead.
Questions people ask
Will converting to WAV improve the sound?
No. WAV stores the decoded audio without further loss, but it cannot restore detail the MP3 already removed.
Why is the WAV so much bigger?
WAV is uncompressed. A three-minute stereo song is about 30 MB as WAV compared with 3 to 7 MB as MP3.
