About this tool
Many browser-based recorders, voice-memo sites and screen-capture tools save WebM files. They play in a browser but not in most music players, phones or editors. This converter takes the first audio track from your WebM, whether it is a sound-only recording or a video, and saves it as an MP3.
If the WebM contains video, the picture is dropped and only the sound is kept. Choose 128 kbps for speech or a higher bitrate for music. The conversion runs on our server with FFmpeg after you agree to the upload. Files up to 50 MB and 15 minutes are accepted and deleted within 30 minutes.

Getting sound from WebM
Turn on audio when recording
When you share a screen or tab in Chrome, tick the option to share audio, otherwise the WebM has no sound to extract.
Large videos
WebM videos over 50 MB need trimming first. Audio-only WebM files are small and convert quickly.
Speech needs little
Most WebM audio is Opus, which sounds good at low bitrates. Small (128 kbps) MP3 is plenty for speech.
