About this tool
Opus is the format behind WhatsApp voice notes and many other voice messages. It keeps speech clear in a very small file, but plenty of players, editors and upload forms still refuse .opus files. This converter re-encodes your Opus audio as an MP3 at the quality you choose.
Browsers cannot create MP3 files on their own, so the conversion runs on our server with FFmpeg after you agree to the upload. Files are private and deleted within 30 minutes.
Questions people ask
My file ends in .ogg. Will it work?
Yes. Some apps, Telegram among them, save Opus audio with an .ogg ending. Choose it the same way.
Will the MP3 sound better than the original?
No. Converting cannot add back detail the Opus file never had. The MP3 plays in more places, but it is usually a larger file than the original.
Is my voice note private?
It is stored privately, reachable only through your session, and deleted within 30 minutes, or straight away when you press Delete my files now. Titles and other metadata are removed during conversion.
