About this tool

Pick a file and the format you need. You can start from MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus or WebM audio, or from an MP4 or WebM video when you only want its sound. When the result is WAV and your browser can read the source, the conversion happens on your own device and nothing is uploaded. For MP3, M4A, FLAC and OGG output we convert on our server with FFmpeg, after you agree to the upload.

Server files are stored privately, are only reachable with a link tied to your session, and are deleted within 30 minutes. You can also delete them straight away once your download finishes.

Questions people ask

Which conversions stay in my browser?
Converting to WAV runs in your browser when it can decode the source file. Every other output format needs our server, and we always ask before uploading.
How long do you keep my files?
Uploaded and converted files are deleted within 30 minutes, or immediately when you press Delete my files.
Can I convert a video to audio?
Yes, for MP4 and WebM videos up to 50 MB. We keep the first audio track and drop the picture.
Are there limits?
Server conversions accept files up to 50 MB and 15 minutes long, with five server conversions per visitor per day.
Good to know

Picking the right format

Which format for what

MP3 plays anywhere, M4A suits Apple devices, FLAC keeps full quality in less space, WAV is for editing software, and OGG suits open-source apps and games.

Lossless does not add quality

Converting an MP3 to WAV or FLAC makes a bigger file, but it cannot restore what MP3 compression removed.

Keep your originals

Convert copies and keep the original file, especially for recordings you cannot make again.
