About this tool
Moving a paper from Word to LaTeX by hand takes hours, especially the equations. This converter turns a .docx file into a complete .tex document: headings become \section commands, Word equations become LaTeX maths, and tables, lists, footnotes, links and images are converted too.
When the document has images, you get a ZIP with the .tex file and a media folder, which you can upload to Overleaf as it is. Expect to move the content into your journal's template and to check citations and cross-references. The conversion runs on our server with Pandoc after you agree to the upload, and your file is deleted as soon as the result is ready.

Use the equation editor
Only equations made with Word's equation editor become LaTeX maths. Equations pasted in as pictures stay images, so retype those.
Special characters are escaped
Characters such as %, & and _ are escaped for LaTeX automatically. Look over code samples, which LaTeX sets differently.
Move it into your template
The file uses a plain article layout. Copy everything between \begin{document} and \end{document} into your journal's template.
